OCTOBER 2022  - Meeting postponed due to Hurricane Ian damage at Punta Gorda History Park - the Price House was inaccessible due to downed trees, but the interior was undamaged - Thank you, early 1900's construction craftsmanship!

  • The north & east winds from Hurricane Ian blew down an Oak & a Blue Mahoe tree over the parking pad at Price House
  • Far south/west end view of History Park - Trees blown down & resting on Price House roof. The tree's root balls are torn from the ground.
  • Volunteers cutting the trees off the Lathe Room roof at Price House. No internal damage found in the building, though - These early 1900's buildings were built tough!
  • Large Heritage Oak fell into the front porch by entry steps of Price House. Screens were torn & some are missing , but no internal building damage! And our flood lights on the gutters survived...
  • East view of Price House porch - Can't find the steps on this view!
  • By 10/9/22, volunteers have cut the major branches & trunk on the big Heritage Oak trees - all that remains here is the root balls.
  • Framing was destroyed on the porch screen section to the right of the Price House front entry by the handicapped ramp.
  • The beautiful Blue Mahoe tree west of the Price House parking pad has been totally destroyed & cut down on 10/9/22. Price House front steps are at the left of this picture.
